FAQ

1. How do I become a member?

Simply click on JOIN NOW or REGISTER and fill in the information forms. Choose the heading that fits you.

2. How can I create a profile?

After registering, to create a profile... simply click on "MY PROFILE" on the account page and start with the SET LOCATION tab at left and move across the page to the right until you have completed it.

3. What is the best browser to use with LocationTalent.com?

Firefox/Mozilla, Safari or Internet Explorer will work with the site. Internet Explorer should work fine for PC users. It is not the best browser to use for Mac users however. In fact, you may especially have problems with videos if using IE and a Mac. Firefox/Mozilla is the overall best browser to use for the site and definitely the best for Mac users.

4. How do I up load pictures?

You should be taken through all the areas for up loading images, videos, resumes, etc when you registered. If not, and you still need to up load your photos, then...

  • Log on to your account. After logged in
  • Click on MY PROFILE once there, then
  • Click on IMAGES
  • A window will come up that says BROWSE... click on it
  • This will open you computer files folder
  • Now locate the images you want to upload to the site. Simply click on that file, then on CHOOSE or OPEN, depending on what browser you have.
  • Now click UPLOAD under the browse window.
  • Your photo should up load in a few seconds.
  • If it does not load... click on the IMAGES tab again to go through process once more. Be sure however, that your images do not violate the criteria found in RED writing just above the up load window regarding characters, etc.
  • Repeat until you reach your desired amount of photos or until you reach your limit.

5. How do I replace images?

  • Log on to your account. After logged in...
  • Click on MY PROFILE once there, then
  • Click on IMAGES
  • Place your mouse over the thumbnail image of any photo that you want to delete/replace.
  • Then click on the small red X at the upper right corner of the thumbnail photo you want to delete.
  • Once you have deleted the first photo you want to exchange, a window will come up that says BROWSE.
  • Once you have deleted all the photos you want to delete, Click on the browse tab
  • This will open you computer files folder
  • Now locate the images you want to upload to the site. Simply click on that file , then on CHOOSE or OPEN, depending on what browser you have.
  • Now click UPLOAD under the browse window.
  • Your photo should up load in a few seconds.
  • If it does not load... click on the IMAGES tab again to go through process again. Be sure however, that your images do not violate the criteria found in RED writing just above the up load window regarding characters, etc.
  • Repeat until you reach your desired amount of photos or until you reach your limit.

6. How do I upload a video

You use the exact same procedure as when loading photos. However, you must purchase a Professional or Star package in order to do so. Simply...

  • Log on to your account. After logged in...
  • Click on MY PROFILE once there, then
  • Click on MEDIA
  • If you do not have a membership that allows you to add a video, it will tell you so and ask if you would like to UPGRADE your membership. If you do, click on it and enter credit card info. Then to back to MY PROFILE and click on MEDIA...
  • A window will come up that says BROWSE, click it.
  • This will open you computer files folder
  • Now locate the video file you want to upload to the site.
  • Simply click on that file, then on CHOOSE or OPEN, depending on what browser you have.
  • Now click UPLOAD under the browse window.
  • Your video should up load in a few seconds.
  • If it does not load... click on the MEDIA tab again to go through process once more. Be sure however, that your videos do not violate the criteria found in RED writing just above the up load window regarding characters, etc.
  • Repeat until you reach your desired amount of videos or until you reach your limit.

8. How do I up load video or MP-3 file?

Use the exact same procedure for up loading an MP-3 File as you would a video. See How to up load a video.

9. What should I do if I have a package that allows me more pictures and it is telling me I have reached my limit?

First try to refresh the cache on your computer or browser. If that does not work... please send an email to support to alert them of the problem.

10. What do I do if I have paid for a package that allows me to up load a video and it is telling me that I need a membership when I have one?

11. How can I up load my resume?

  • Log on to your account. After logged in...
  • Click on MY PROFILE once there, then
  • Click on RESUME
  • A window will come up that says BROWSE, click it.
  • This will open you computer files folder
  • Now locate the file you want to upload to the site.
  • Simply click on that file, then on CHOOSE or OPEN, depending on what browser you have.
  • Now click UPLOAD under the browse window.
  • Your resume should up load in a few seconds.
  • If it does not load... click on the RESUME tab again to go through process once more. Be sure however, that you follow the direction just above the up load window. Only PDF and MSW fines are currently accepted.

12. I have Internet Explorer and can't seem to get the site to work for me.

That Browser does not work well with the site.

13. What if I forget my user name?

Your log in USER ID is your email address.

14. What if I have forgotten my password?

  • If you have forgotten your password, simply try to log in with what you think is correct. It will tell you that the "password is invalid".
  • Now click on "Forget Password?"
  • Then enter your email address in the provided window and a new password will be emailed to you.
  • Once you have logged in with the new password, you can go to MY ACCOUNT and up date your password changing it to one you prefer.

15. How can I change or update my password?

  • Once you have successfully logging in, click on MY ACCOUNT
  • Once there click on "update" to the left of your email address at top of your account page. Update it and press SUBMIT at bottom of page.

16. Is this site secure enough for me to send my CC info?

Yes. We are a secure site.

17. Can I set my location in more than one place?

Not Currently but the ability to list yourself in two (2) locations with one account is coming within the first quarter of 2008. There will be a "primary location" and a "secondary location" available to everyone who wishes to use it. Once listed as such, you will appear in searches conducted in both locations. HOWEVER, you can create as many profiles as you like in as many locations as you want now. All you need is a different email address for each account. After all, they're free!

18. When I conduct a search should I include a wider radius...like 300 miles?

Actually, all searches will default to a 300 mile radius. If you want to search a smaller area, simply click on the window provided ("within___ miles of___") and enter the distance you desire and the zip code (zip code finder located next to window).

19. I am an Back Ground Artist/Extra, not an actor. Do I need an agent to list on the site?

No you do not. Many agents do handle Extras so if you have one you should list them. If you do not have an agent, you can still sign on to the site but you will have to use a contact info that is most likely your personal info. You must be aware of that. You could also list yourself as... SEEKING REPRESENTATION. This way you may find an agent who wants to rep you but again, your personal contact info will be available to whomever wants views your page.

20. I can play more than one ethnicity... can I list myself as more than one?

Absolutely! Simply click on all that apply when you are signing up and creating your profile. A check list is provided. If there is one that fits you which is not listed, please email us and tell us about it.

21. I did not put in my age range... only my age. I don't want to miss out on calls for things that I can play other than my actual age. How does this work?

You can check off all the age ranges that you feel you can play. Remember, be realistic. If you are not, you will not win favor by casting people, nor agents.

22. Will my email address be secure?

As long as you are listed with an agent or manager, your email address will not be available to anyone visiting or using the site. However, if you are listed as an EXTRA and have no representation, or under SEEKING REPRESENTATION, then you will have to list "direct contact" info and should be aware of this. However, once you find an agent, you can update that info.

23. My particular form of TALENT is not listed as a talent type... what can I do to get listed?

Please send us an email and alert us as to your talent. We are always looking for more areas of talent to list.

24. How can I become an in the spotlight featured actor?

Actors who have listed their reels on the site are eligible for IN THE SPOTLIGHT. They are selected randomly.

25. Do I have to have experience to be listed as an EXTRA or in the SEEKING REPRESENTATION area?

No.
